Silvia Mah, CEO | Hera-LABS

Dr. Mah’s primary focus is in on (1) empowering, nurturing, and sustaining women-owned businesses in San Diego and nationwide, (2) invest in socially relevant new ventures that will allow women to break through barriers in order for the next generation of women entrepreneurs to grow even more, and (3) help accelerate university discoveries through the commercialization pipeline. Prior to her current endeavors, Silvia was Director of the Teams in Engineering Service program at the Jacobs School of Engineering, UCSD, and an instructor to over 200 students on social entrepreneurship, project management, & leadership. Dr. Silvia Mah holds a Ph.D. in Marine Molecular Biology from UCSD Scripps Institution of Oceanography & an M.B.A. from UCSD Rady School of Management, focused on business strategy and marketing. She is originally from Caracas, Venezuela, is an advocate for special needs children focusing on ability with modifications, enjoys traveling with her husband, and delights in beach days with her 3 children.

Felena Hanson, Founder | Hera Hub

Felena is a marketing maven. Her fifteen year career spans from a management position at a marketing agency in Los Angeles to Director of Marketing for a San Diego based high tech company. Her entrepreneurial path started in 2003 when she launched Perspective Marketing – a consulting firm that specialized in providing high-quality, cost-effective marketing strategy services to small businesses. Felena’s latest venture, Hera Hub, is a spa-inspired shared workspace for female entrepreneurs. This as-needed, flexible work and meeting space provides a productive environment for women who primarily work from home. Hera Hub members have access to a professional space to meet with clients and to connect and collaborate with like-minded business owners, thus giving them the support they need to be prosperous.
